Following the recent legislative session Gov. Rick Scott signed into law the Concussion Act adding Florida to the list of states who have passed similar legislation. It mandates the removal from play of the concussed athlete and not allowing their return to play until a complete assessment is performed and signed by a MD or DO. It also has language for the FHSAA Florida High School Activities Assn. Sports Medicien Advisory Committee to implement policies and procedure for thsi act. This a safety milestone for the safety of our athletes.
